The series ‘One Punch Man’ is one of the iconic anime and manga series that is popular since 2015 and still rising.
One Punch Man is based from WebComic and manga series written by One and Illutrated by Yusuke Murata.
The protagonist of the series, Saitama is considered as one of the strongest anime characters of all time by his God-like power that could literally beat ang monsters in just one punch. Regardless of being powerful, Saitama categorize as weak by a lot of people knowing that he has a normal appearance compare to others.
One of the notable things in the series is his immesurable amount of power. In spite of having an God-like strength, some monsters are lucky enough to survived his deadly punch that could even destroy an entire planet.
Here are the Monsters Who Survived Saitama’s Punch
4. Overgrown Rover
Disaster Level: Dragon
Overgrown Rover is one of the monsters lurking underground and responsible for guarding the Monster Association. This powerful dog was first introduced when Garou went to their hideout and unexpectedly confronted Rover.
In spite of being a monster dog, Overgrown Rover is classify as one of the ‘Dragon’ Level monster that could literally destroy an entire city in an instant. Overgrown Rover could release a destructive blast through his massive mouth that heroes like Puri-Puri-Prisoner, Tank Top Master or even Genos cannot stop and possibly can turn them into ashes in just one breath if they catch it.
The first one Overgrown Rover confronted was Garou when they accidentally attack him along with the other monsters. What makes Rover powerful is not just because of his destructive blast but also his enormous durability. Garou admittedly amazed when he punched Rover with everything he got yet doesn’t have any effect on him and also, Rover was the only one that caused of all his fatal injuries among all the monsters he met underground just by taking one blast from Rover, showing how powerful truly this dog.
Later on, Overgrown Rover met Saitama knowing that he was also an intruder, which started of their confrontation. Knowing how durable this monster, he survived Saitama’s punch after he tried to eradicate him with a powerful blast. What makes him truly powerful is Rover was the only monster survived Saitama’s punch regardless of being just a ‘Dragon’ threat.
The most funniest part about this confrontation was, later on, Rover will get along with Saitama and become his pet(WebComic). Rover isn’t truly a bad monster but only obey orders from his master, which was protect the Monster Association. So when his master died along with the destruction of Monster Association, Rover followed Saitama and became his new owner.
Disaster Level: Dragon
Orochi is one of the strongest monster in the series and the leader of Monster Organization living underground.
He was the biggest monster shown in the series before he had fused with psykos in order to defeat Tatsumaki. Orochi was fully introduced after they had abducted and fight Garou to turn him into a monster knowing that Garou was capable of being like them. Just like any other strong monsters, Orochi has variety of forms with different abilities he used in every battle.
Regardless of being the leader of Monster Association, Orochi is hard to consider as Disaster God Level unlike Boros and Garou. During the raid in the hideout of Monster Association, Psykos and Orochi needed to fused themselves in order to beat Tatsumaki alone, which shows that even Tatsumaki still is powerful than both of them combine.
Orochi defeated Garou after he had shown the glimpse of his ability to him, to the way that he easily copied Garou’s fighting style to beat him. After his victory to Garou, the next person he confronted was Saitama, which started of his breakdown.
Saitama warned Orochi to stop the havoc because of the fact that his house was in the brink of destruction, yet obviously Orochi didn’t obey. Orochi was one of the few characters who realized Saitama’s power just by looking at him just like Boros. During their battle, Orochi survived 3 attacks from Saitama before he collapsed and fused with Psykos.
Fortunately for Orochi, Saitama left thinking that he was already dead
Disaster Level: God
Boros was the final antagonist of the 1st season of One Punch Man and one of the few characters who considered as God disaster level. Boros was the leader of Dark Matter Thieves, a group of powerful alien monsters that could literally wipe out the entire civilization. Boros had thousands of troops under his command, which made their alliance truly threatening.
Unlike any monsters in the series, Boros and his troops were the only monsters came from outer space unlike Monster Association, who lives underground. Boros appeared in the episode 10 of the series looking for a unknown powerful person that said could match his immense power.
Unlike any other monsters, Boros was the first one saw Saitama’s strength in just one glance without fighting him, showing how powerful he is compare to others who underestimate Saitama.
During their their confrontation, Saitama was undoubtedly amazed, knowing that was the first time someone survived from his first punch, thanks to Boros’s armor. Boros showed everything he had in order to defeat Saitama yet opposite happened. Before he died, Boros survived 4 attacks from Saitama that resulted of his death. The most surprising thing was Saitama acknowledged Boros strength as his last words for him before he died.
1. Monster Garou
Disaster Level: God
If Boros was the main villain in the 1st season of the series, Garou was the main antagonist of 2nd season and the upcoming seasons, having him more screentime than Boros. Because of that, fans were often compared them of who’s stronger when they fight? Garou or Boros?
Unlike Boros, Garou is a completely human yet extremely powerful than most of the Class S Heroes. A lot of theories suggested that Garou could almost break his limiter, just like what happened to Saitama, which gave him God-like power. Garou is a human yet wanted to become a monster for a certain reason especially because of his ideals and beliefs that changed his perspectives against heroes. Because of that, he lives a life as an outlaw mainly as a ‘Hero Hunter’.
Class S Heroes are the strongest heroes throughout the whole series yet they were knocked down by Garou after he achieved his limit as a monster, which is why they called him Monster Garou
In spite of being a human, Garou obtained God-like power just like Saitama, to the way that he was considered as Disaster God Level after he beaten all the heroes. Later on after he defeated all the heroes, was the entranced of Saitama.
Unlike Boros, Garou thought Saitama as a weakling when Saitama confronted him. During their battle, Saitama was the only person could stand up knowing the fact that all heroes were knocked down by Garou, but little did Saitama know, Class S Heroes were watching him, making them aware of his God-like power.
Garou took not 1 or 2 punches from Saitama but 12 attacks before he collapsed. Throughout the whole series, Garou was the only person that could dodged Saitama’s punch number of times to the way that Boros couldn’t even evade Saitama’s blows.
The reason why Garou survived Saitama’s punches number of times was because Saitama was holding back, knowing that Garou is indeed a human in the first place and not a monster. Saitama punched Garou to the way that he won’t die unlike he did to all the monsters he had faced just like Boros.
